Roanne Kantor is an assistant professor of English at Stanford University. Her courses focus on multilingual literature and media from the global South, with a special focus on India. She also researches and teaches about interdisciplinary engagements between literature and fields like medicine, anthropology, and law. Her first book, South Asian Writers, Latin American Literature, and the Rise of Global English was published by Cambridge University Press in 2022, and was awarded an American Comparative Literature first book subvention prize. Kantor is also a published translator and a winner of the Susan Sontag Prize for Translation.
