Stanford Summer Humanities Institute offers two three-week sessions with distinctive courses for students grades 10–11 on the beautiful Stanford campus.
Participants listen to a lecture in the Stanford Humanities Center.

Summer 2019 Dates & Tuition

Students may attend one of our three week sessions. They may attend another Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies program as well, however interim housing is not provided.

Monday, June 24–Friday, July 12, 2019
Session Two
Monday, July 15–Friday, August 2, 2019
Tuition
Stanford Summer Humanities Institute's tuition is $6,200.
Application Timeline
We offer Early, Regular, and Rolling admissions from January through March.

Financial Aid

We offer financial aid in the form of partial and full scholarships for domestic and international applicants. Students who wish to be considered for both partial and full scholarships should submit a complete online financial aid application and all required income documentation.

Payment Dates

The date on which a student is accepted into the program determines the deposit and tuition balance payment dates. Once admitted, see the Student Page for your specific payment due dates. The deposit and tuition balance are respectively due 1 week and 2 weeks after the notification of admissions decision date.

Tuition is All-Inclusive

The tuition at Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Humanities Institute covers the following listed below.
Please note that tuition does not include airfare and incidental purchases.

Housing & Meals

Participants are housed in supervised Stanford residences in an arts and humanities themed house. Participants receive bedding and eat meals in Stanford dining halls.

Instruction & All Course Materials

We provide the necessary supplies for each of our courses. This also includes transportation and fees for academic field trips.

Field Trips

Field trips to exciting cultural and natural attractions in the San Francisco Bay area are scheduled for one day each weekend—in the past visiting world-renowned exhibitions at SFMOMA and the de Young museum.

Transportation Between Stanford & SFO

Transportation is provided between Stanford University and the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on arrival and departure days.
